Label.m Promo 2007/08

Below are stills from a video I cut from footage shot by cameraman Ady Le Roux. Label.m is a haircare range and this is a behind the scenes look at the production of the their advertising imagery. Shot by photographer Stuart Weston the concept 'model group shot as rock group shoot' has been consistent for the last few campaigns. The treatment lent itself to a grungey look (again! - see above).

Model.Me

Model.Me

I came across this on Youtube. It's a copy of a documentary-style promotional video for Model.Me. I co-directed it, edited and even wrote the music. It was released as a promotional DVD as part of a press promotional push for the release over the Summer.

Daft Punk's Electroma

The trailer makes it look like THX 1138 with a Gucci makeover - or Battlestar Galatica goes to Milan via Beverly Hills but finally Daft Punk's "Electroma" gets it's UK DVD release at the end of the month. I imagine it's going to be seriously pretentious - and maybe a little dull - but I can't wait.. It's a weird and possibly quite wonderful oddity. Slow and at times beautiful but with a surprisingly large dose of humour. I think it's Daft Punk not taking themselves too seriously. Or it could be them taking themselves way too seriously I suppose! It seems almost a dig at their lengths they have taken their own ridiculous self image with it's robot glorification. I tend to think this must be the end of the robots - I expect their next film to be something very different. Unless they lose their robot nerve of course.

Hewitt Recruitment

Hewitt is an actuarial firm - I'm shooting and editing footage for their recruitment site. The first phase of the site has launched and it's video heavy. This is a Glass production

Kaizen

So a good deal of what I've been busy with is the DVD of the Kaizen collection for TONI&GUY. This is a 3 DVD box set. I've designed menus, intros and a promo trailer. And then completed a promo which was given it's first public performance in front of 2,500 at an event named Mainstage that TONI&GUY held at Earls Court on the 7th October. I'm going to add material from the DVD here as and when I get the chance.

I also "wrote" some music for the step-by-step educational sections of the DVD at the last minute when some comissioned music just didn't seem to be working

Below is an example of one of 6 outros for the education sections of the DVD. It's silent.
